:new: UPDATE 03/10/2014//
MATILDA HAS BEEN ACCEPTED! I received my acceptance while sitting in an art lecture and I had to consciously prevent myself from making a very ridiculous excited noise. I can't wait to start roleplaying, chatting, and meeting with everyone!

So this is my application for the group PKMN Crossing, a Pokemon/Animal Crossing crossover! The group is really well-organized and is very inclusive. After waiting months to join, they are finally opening tomorrow! :>> I am more than excited to send this in, and I am really, really hoping that my application is up to par. I've had Matilda thought out for a month or two now..

Please please PLEASE feel free to give me any feedback! I really appreciate it!

HISTORY:

Matilda was born the only child into a very loving family. Her parents had trouble conceiving a child, so she was their one and only, and they treated her as such. Her mother was a fragile, lovely Espeon, whereas her father was a brute Granbull. Her mother was a seamstress who created adorable fashions for those in town, and her father alternatively worked in a lumber yard to bring in money to contribute his half to the family. Being the only child, Matilda was constantly torn between her parents expectations. Her mother always wanted to bring out the feminine side, which the little snubbull embraced. However, her mother detested when her unconventional side came out, which was usually encouraged by her father. Working in a lumber yard, the granbull was often expected to head out in the forest and cut down trees to bring back to the shop. Matilda's father would sometimes bring her along, taking her out for hikes on their break where they would catch bugs, dig holes and enjoy the great outdoors. It was these instances that further encouraged her to enjoy these simple pleasures. Catching bugs was her favorite thing to do; her father had bought her a net for her sixth birthday, which she soon began to bring everywhere. Her room began to fill with miniature habitats, the creepy-crawlies filing their confines. There was something about spending time with her father that made her feel extremely comfortable, and he never found her habits odd. It was at this time that little Matilda grew to love the adventure associated with exploring the great outdoors, and these things began to form her personality. The time she spent with her mother, on the other hand, was dedicated to trying to dilute her unladylike side. Her mother would encourage her to play dress-up, have tea parties, and play with dolls. Her mother was greatly pleased when her daughter met her with little resistance. Matilda loved doing these things with her mother just as much as she enjoyed spending time with her father, but old habits die hard. Her mother often used her as a living mannequin to test new designs on, which is probably where Matilda gets her odd, frilly fashion sense.

Throughout her adolescence, Matilda was always a little bit strange. On the outside, she appeared to be an adorable little lady; she was always well-groomed and wore cute accessories. However, within moments of conversing with her one would realize that she had her quirks. She will sometimes switch topics of conversation very suddenly, stare off into space midway through a discussion, and her compliments often draw parallels to bugs. However, her weirdness was never entirely unbearable, but rather a 'mild blip in her personality', as her mother called it. It is for this reason that many found her hard to converse with. She was always paying attention, but other things tended to invade her thoughts and come through verbally or physically.

She was a very bright child in school. She always did well and participated in class, despite her mind often wandering to the world outside. She could be quick-witted when she wanted to, though it's obvious she rarely felt the urge. She was never teased in school for her oddities, though, and she always had a tight-nit group of friends. They would go on adventures, and Matilda had deemed herself their princess (she considered it a cuter alternative to 'leader'). Nobody really protested, as it was just in her nature to come up with those types of things. She would teach them all about the things her dad taught her while out on expeditions together. The group would meet at their little clubhouse in the woods nearby (it was really just a little stick hut) where they would just enjoy doing the things that kids do.

Despite her very positive upbringing, it was clear that Matilda was having trouble growing up. Her parents worried that she would never mature; she always seemed to be stuck in a child’s mindset. She preferred having tea parties, catching bugs and digging holes to anything productive. Many people were mistaking her for a ten-year-old as opposed to the young tween she truly was. At this rate, they thought she would never evolve (though Matilda resented the idea of evolving into something as terrifying as a granbull, and would hold it off at all costs). It wasn’t that she was entirely incapable of acting her age, but rather she preferred the lifestyle of a child and opted to live it. Her parents often
misinterpreted her daughter's intentions in this way. Regardless, the couple believed she had began to grow complacent, even at her age, which was increasingly troubling. A fresh new start is what she needed, they thought; and after months of pondering, it was decided that they would send her to live in Pokette town (if even for a little while), a fresh and cheery little place. The young girl never protested, as it just sounded like another adventure to her. If things worked out, Matilda would be living with her grandmother: a strict, old umbreon. Her parents hoped that living with her would encourage her to grow up a bit, take on some responsibilities and blossom into the young lady she should really be.

EXTRAS:

/ Matilda loves bugs. She almost always has a net in her possession, and her room is filled with them!

/ Her voice is low and slightly nasally, mostly due to her squished face.

/ Her tone can be very flat sounding, with a hint of a valley girl accent.

/ On that note, her face seems to be stuck in a state of annoyance when relaxed.

/ She is an avid people-watcher and eavesdropper.

/ Sometimes she likes to dig holes, just to fill them in again.

/ She is very picky when it comes to food. She will order a sandwich and pick most of the contents off of it.

PERSONALITY
        / Strange
        / Picky
/ Can be chatty (if you get her into the right conversation), otherwise she is quite quiet.
        / Adventurous
        / Fearless
        / Rarely feels embarrassment
        / May seem unapproachable
/ Very feminine in many aspects

I always mean to comment and then I forget, but I remembered now, and I really really like this girlie! I love her eyes and the fact you gave hr a nasal valley girl accent- it's little details like that that really make a fun character.
